Approach and Involvement:

Our involvement was comprehensive and strategic. We engaged in the partnership with Mana Whenua to not only shape the platform's design but also create a streamlined resource consent engagement process. This process was designed to facilitate effective Mana Whenua input and identification of applications where their perspectives were crucial.

Impact and Outcome:

Through our collaboration with Auckland Council and Mana Whenua, the Māori Engagement Platform emerged as a transformative tool. By integrating indigenous perspectives and co-design, the platform simplified the engagement process, ensuring that Mana Whenua insights were acknowledged where most relevant.

The outcomes included a strengthened partnership between Auckland Council and Mana Whenua, a more efficient and effective resource consent engagement process, and the empowerment of Mana Whenua voices in decisions that affect their communities. This case underscores our commitment to fostering collaborative initiatives that uphold Te Tiriti partnerships and lead to impactful, efficient processes.
