Practice and Guidance Note

Approach and Involvement:

Our approach was multifaceted and collaborative. We partnered with Mana Whenua representatives and Auckland Council to co-design the Practice and Guidance Note. This included technical, engagement, and program leadership support. The objective was to equip Auckland Council staff with the knowledge and tools to interpret and implement the Mana Whenua provisions effectively.

Impact and Outcome:

Through our collective efforts, Auckland Council gained an enhanced framework to incorporate Mana Whenua values into their processes. The Practice and Guidance Note, along with the training, provided comprehensive guidance on interpreting and integrating Mana Whenua provisions. This led to a more informed and respectful consideration of Mana Whenua values in Resource Consent processes, contributing to more culturally sensitive and equitable outcomes.

The project exemplifies our commitment to partnership-driven initiatives that lead to meaningful results, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and culturally responsive approach to urban planning and development.
